About Naviin Gandharv

Pt.Naviin Gandharv  is a young, multi-talented and dynamic artist who plays the unique instrument- Belabaharr & Tabla with equal dexterity. With immense dedication  he lives up to his name ‘Gandharv ‘ & has proved to be a priceless asset to the music world .

Born in the heart of Dewas, a famous place in Madhya Pradesh , India  where music is cherished since generations in the aristocratic family of  Pt. Kashiram – a celebrated Sarangi Master.

About Belabaharr

The Belabaharr is a unique instrument that combines the tonal effect of a Sarangi with the convenience of a Violin. It is not commercially available as a musical instrument, although it is approved by AIR and Doordarshan. Its commercial rendezvous is restricted to a few pieces in the popular Bollywood hits like 1942 A Love Story, Gadar, Damini, LOC Kargil, Refugee etc.The Belabaharr has been a substitute to most varieties of bowing instruments like Dilruba, Tar-shehnai, Ravanhatta, Violin, Sarangi etc.

Contribution to Indian classical music

Being a versatile performer in melody & Rhythm he has also added new dimensions to the Indian classical music by forming ‘Anuraaj ‘ a team of highly talented musicians through which they exhibit divinity joy ,excitement ,aesthetics , power & hope for a better tomorrow which is the purpose of all forms of art.
